I first visited Dhaka fifteen years ago. Dhaka may be the city in the world with the craziest trafic. There is more than half a million cycle rickshaws. Half a million! Plus quite a few other moving objects in various sizes and with various loads.
I walked the 5km from the Kamalapur Central Railway station to Sadarghat (the river pier in Old town Dhaka) and being hit only once by a (bicycle) rickshaw was nothing short of a miracle. It felt like number of Rickshaws, cars and CNGs (tuk tuks)etc had more than doubled since 2003. Here is a few photos I took on my 5km walk (and succeeding boat trip)..
